Confirmation Statement Filing

Man Signing

A Confirmation Statement, also known as Companies House form CS01, serves as a verification tool for ensuring the accuracy of company data recorded at Companies House as of a specific date.

If there are any discrepancies or outdated information when the confirmation statement is due, it's crucial to update the data either before or simultaneously with the delivery of the confirmation statement.

The confirmation statement is simpler than the annual return as it doesn't require re-entry of previously filed information if there have been no changes in the past 12 months.

In cases where your company details remain unchanged and there are no updates to report, the process is straightforward.

The inaugural confirmation statement is required to be submitted within a period not exceeding one year and thirteen days subsequent to the date of incorporation. Following this, it is incumbent upon the company to prepare and submit these statements on an annual basis. It is of paramount importance to be aware that non-compliance in filing confirmation statements constitutes a criminal offence. This could potentially result in the directors being subjected to personal fines imposed by the criminal courts. Furthermore, tardiness in the delivery of these documents could precipitate the registrar eliminating the company from the public record.
